Hello I am Angi :) I am originally from Minnesota although I made Hawaii my home in 2001, and for sure prefer a Hawaii winter to a Minnesota one! I was originally brought to ABA through child psychology and speech therapy paths that wound their way to support for adults first then early intervention and through the years all ages in between. When not at work I enjoy spending time with my Husband and three teenagers, going for runs, watching movies in the theater and listening to music (especially live) My favorite animal is an octopus-they have found their way in our decor as well. My favorite Marvel character in Thor. Hope to see you soon!!

Austin A.
RBT
Hey friends! Iʻm Austin :) you can call me Austin, Mr. Austin, Uncle Austin, or even my gifted nickname "Bright-eyes". I am grateful for every day and experience, appreciating all shades of light that my life provides. The majority of my life has been lived in Colorado, while I have also been fortunate to exist in regards to living within the spaces of Florida, California, Arizona. I was born in (believe it or not) Austin, Texas on the military base of Fort Hood. I donʻt have much memory of the environment, but I do know the experience of growing up within a military family as both of my parents were in the Army. I can empathize with the aspects that come along with the militant home environment including travel and moving.
I have been so fortunate to be a resident of the island of Oahu since 2018. As a recreational, competitive, and professional swimmer my whole life I always felt drawn to the water. I have always had this dream of living on an island with the love of my life - helping those around me. Here I am! My fiancé, a marine biologist who currently works with UH regarding whales, dolphins, and diseases (for example), and currently live happily in Kailua with two precious cats.
We both work passionately towards serving the community. We are grateful in our acceptance and presence on the āina and have focused much of our studies on Hawaiian history, culture, and language. We have also been fortunate to have the opportunity to be educated on other backgrounds and personal stories within the communities we participate in.
I am currently on-track to graduating with my Bachelors in Psychology in May of 2023. I found my journey with Windward Synergy Center almost 3 years ago. I have familial and personal experience when it comes to our field. The love and passion I feel towards this aspect of a therapeutic atmosphere has lead me to continue my education into a graduate program. I hope to not only receive my certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst but also as a Speech Pathologist.
Coming from personal experience and my professional experience at the Center, I have learned how beneficial speech therapy can be. I am now a very communicative and chatty person and I would love to branch further into helping out community utilize their own voice in whatever medium is most supportive and productive for them!
My future professional goals outside of that are to become certified in EMDR therapy for those who have experienced trauma and to establish a non-profit organization for youth within the LGBTQIA+ community that experience issues with mental health and donʻt have access to support regarding their mental health.
Personally, Iʻm basically a golden retriever! I am enthusiastic about any opportunity! Even with failure I find the appreciation in learning and growth.
In my free time, I enjoy time with my friends, my fiancé, my cats, and myself! I love to sing, I love to dance, I love to act, to cook, to draw - truthfully anything that allows me to express myself. I am also a certified free diver and enjoy spending time within the water. My partner and I are active in the protection and restoration of the island and ocean. We participate in beach and reef cleanups whenever we are available. We don't take our lives for granted, and the same applies to our planet. We are determined to leave this planet a better place than when we arrived.
I'm Here :)

Yadira L
RBT
Hello! I'm Yadira - pronounced Yuh-deer-uh. I am originally from Big Bear, California, which is a small ski resort town in SoCal. Here's a little blurb about my professional life. I attended the University of California-Riverside for my undergrad and graduated with my degree in Psychology. I stumbled upon ABA when looking for jobs after graduation and quickly fell in love with the kiddos I worked with. I decided to further my education and moved across the country to Massachusetts in 2019. I worked for a non-profit ABA company/school where I worked with pre-teens in a residential home and simultaneously attended Simmons University. Once I earned my Masters degree in Education, I decided to work towards my BCBA. I drove back to California and planned for my next big move. In October 2023, I moved to Kailua, Hawai'i where I am now completing the BCBA program at UH. A couple random facts about me - I LOVE pizza and chocolate, I enjoy travelling, I like eating food as a hobby, I like taking pictures of scenery and food, and I don't typically drink caffeinated drinks. Also, my favorite animal is a bird...all birds.
